WHO WE ARE
My friends call me Rudy, I’m an old computer expert who over the years, instead of building sailing ships from toothpicks as I used to tell everyone, I have been slowly creating a database of wine. At first it was just a hobby for my own personal use, then it progressed driven by the curiosity of the explorer in an important new world - perhaps a bit untidy from the IT perspective – such as the one of the Italian wine. My country is the world wine production leader and the wine sector is one of the pillars of the Italian economy.
I’ve been helped by Paola, Michele, Pino, Irina, Giorgio, Alessio,Zoe, experts whose support has been very important for me.
I am an ordinary consumer, not a sommelier, although everyone who has seen what I’ve done is recommending that I become one of them! Well, I’ll do it, if I want to taste a Barolo which costs 1.350 euros, for many the best wine in the world; now I wouldn’t be able to appreciate all its qualities that justify the cost. All this job is for ordinary consumers like me.
Creating this database has allowed me to find many good wines at affordable prices. I’ve also discovered some lack of politeness on behalf of wine sellers or restaurateurs, who proposed incredibly inflated prices.
Now I’m giving this opportunity to everybody, absolutely free and without registration.
I am independent from any manufacturer or newspaper or guide, as well as the final evaluations about wines.
